Modern charity work is quite unlike anything we did before, even a decade ago! We are in the Communications Age. We no longer need expensive offices. Connectivity is at our fingertips and on our phones.
Charity activities are empowered by WhatsApp and Zoom. These two IT achievements keep us up to date and relevant. We can hone our activities to respond to complex and changing situations. We can connected in real time to beneficiaries, team members and donors.
Modern technology transforms our ability to respond to need, but it also transforms giving. We can post needs as they arise, receive funding efficiently and transmit money internationally. WhatsApp enables us to put Rapid Response Teams together and generate images and videos for donors in real time! Such innovations enabled one doctor in the UK to launch an entire medical outreach into Ukraine from his basement. He simply connected motivated health workers with resources and delivery teams to take truckloads of supplies to Ukranian Christians in need.
Without technology like this we would carry expensive overheads, but today we can pour even more donations directly into the frontlines.
What is need today are multiple, reliable small donations from people who care for the suffering church. Be one of them! These are the donations that are the backbone of ALL the activities described here.
I was once asked if £10 a month makes a difference. OF COURSE IT DOES! It only takes ten of us doing that to make £100.
